Chief Science Officer's Office (Deck 6)

The chief science officer's office sits attached to the lab cluster on the mid-deck port side, positioned for direct oversight of the four science labs nearby. A wide window of clear transparent aluminum in the inner wall looks directly into the corridor connecting the labs, allowing the room's occupant to see activity passing by without leaving the desk. The desk itself faces this window, its surface holding a companel display split into several monitoring feeds from the labs, alongside standard terminal functions. Two chairs face the desk from the door side, and a wall of shelving opposite holds a dense, orderly collection of data padds, sample containers, and small personal specimens collected over the course of the ship's travels. The walls are a plain grey, and the floor is a hard composite matching the labs outside rather than the carpeted quarters elsewhere on the deck. Lighting is bright and even. The room carries the ambient hum of the lab cluster faintly through the connecting corridor, along with the closer, quieter sound of the companel's monitoring feeds updating.
