Holodeck Support Machinery (Deck 6)

The holodeck support machinery rooms sit at the aft port and starboard sections of the deck, housing the processing buffers, memory banks, and energy conversion hardware that drive the Deck 6 holodecks above and forward.
Each room is dominated by dense rows of processing housings, taller and more tightly packed than those found in most technical spaces on the ship, their surfaces faced with rows of small status lights that shift in complex, layered patterns as holodeck programs run. Thick conduit bundles converge from the ceiling into the housings, and a narrow service walkway runs between the rows, just wide enough for one person.
A diagnostic console near the entrance displays buffer load and energy conversion rates for the holodecks currently in use, updating continuously rather than in the more static rhythm of other technical rooms.
The walls are a plain grey, and the floor is a hard composite with a raised cable channel running along the walkway's edge. The room is noticeably warmer than the corridor outside, and its electronic hum is dense and shifting rather than steady, rising and falling in response to whatever is being rendered in the holodecks above.
