Main Galley & Replicator Matrix (Deck 7)

Forward of the Main Mess Hall along the central corridor, the galley is a long, narrow service space with none of the mess hall's warmth - purely functional, built for volume. One long wall is given over to a bank of industrial replicator housings, each set into pale grey composite paneling from waist height to the ceiling. Every unit has a recessed amber-lit control interface and a wide stainless unloading shelf where materialized meal trays, bulk food canisters, and ingredient stock shimmer into being with a soft electronic chime and a faint ozone smell. The opposite wall holds modular food storage: stacked rectangular containers in grey and white composite, several fronted with small LCARS temperature readouts glowing amber or pale blue depending on whether the contents are held warm or refrigerated. A side alcove holds real produce and trade goods brought aboard during supply stops, kept apart from the replicated stock in simple wire and composite bins. Down the center of the room run stainless-topped preparation counters, sinks, and cutting stations, their surfaces scarred faintly from use. Overhead, warm task lighting is focused directly on the counters, while the rest of the room sits under cooler, dimmer ambient light typical of ship utility spaces. Ventilation grates along the ceiling hum steadily, pulling away steam and cooking odors before they can drift toward the mess hall. Wide double doors at the aft end open directly onto the Main Mess Hall's serving line, and a service cart or two is usually parked just inside them. The floor throughout is a matte, easy-clean grey composite, and the dominant sounds are the steady cycling hum of the replicators, the occasional chime of a completed order, and the low mechanical breath of the ventilation system.
