Consumables Resupply Connectors - Saucer (Deck 8)

This compartment is little more than a wide access alcove branching off the docking port corridor, dominated by a bank of heavy intake couplings mounted flush against the outer hull. Each coupling is a thick circular fitting rimmed in yellow hazard striping, capped by a hinged cover plate when not in use, and labeled by function - deuterium, water, replicator feedstock, and several smaller specialty lines.
A vertical control panel beside the couplings displays live intake status once a starbase umbilical is attached: flow rate, line pressure, and estimated time to complete resupply for each connected line, rendered in the ship's standard LCARS style but arranged with unusual density for a compartment this size. Thick, insulated transfer lines run from the couplings across the ceiling toward the ship's main storage tanks, each line a slightly different diameter depending on what it carries.
The floor is bare deck plating rather than composite decking, scuffed in places from equipment carts used during resupply operations, and a fold-down jump seat is bolted to the bulkhead for a technician to monitor a long transfer without needing to remain standing. Warning placards near the couplings note pressure limits and required safety procedures for connecting or disconnecting an active line.
When no transfer is underway, the compartment is silent and slightly cool, the couplings sealed and unremarkable. During an active resupply, a steady low thrum passes through the deck plating as fluid or gas moves through the lines, occasionally accompanied by a brief hiss when a line is pressurized or vented at the start or end of a transfer.
