Shuttlebay 2 - Bay 2 (Deck 10)

Smaller and more intimate than the main bay next door, this hangar still carries the same hangar-scale proportions, just compressed into a tighter footprint shared between a more varied mix of craft. Two Delta Flyer Mk. II shuttlecraft sit parked side by side near the center of the deck, their distinctive angular hulls immediately setting them apart from the more conventional lines of the single Type-6 shuttlecraft parked nearby.
Off to one side, two squat Work Bee maintenance pods rest in a dedicated cradle rack, their spindly manipulator arms folded in against boxy single-occupant hulls, waiting to be deployed for exterior hull work. The shared bay floor is marked with the same yellow clearance striping as Bay 1, though scaled down and more tightly packed given the closer quarters.
A retractable partition wall separates this bay from Bay 1's main flight deck, capable of opening fully to combine both hangars into one larger operating space during major fleet actions, currently closed and marked with warning striping along its base track. The same atmospheric containment field technology seals this bay's own launch aperture, a smaller aperture than Bay 1's but built to the identical specification.
Activity here tends to be quieter than in the main bay, fewer craft meaning fewer people moving between them at any given time, though the ambient hum of environmental systems and the occasional whine of a Work Bee's thrusters during a test cycle keep the bay from ever feeling entirely still. The air carries the same faint impulse exhaust and hydraulic tang found throughout the shuttlebay complex.
