History
Voyager, Displaced
In the year 2371, the USS Voyager departed Deep Space Nine. Destined for an infamous area of space known as the Badlands, the Intrepid class starship had a simple mission. To track down a Maquis raider, the Val Jean, and take its crew into custody for acts against the Cardassian empire which threatened the peace.
However, what was to be a simple, three week mission turned into a seven year journey when Voyager and the Val Jean both were transported seventy five thousand lightyears from home by a powerful entity known as the Caretaker. Over the course of seven years, Voyager adapted, advanced the frontiers of exploration and science, and most importantly, found a way home.
The Pathfinder Project
In 2374, Voyager discovered a relay station network and was able to use it to transmit their EMH to a Starfleet vessel, the USS Prometheus, on the edge of its range. After taking control of the vessel from Romulan agents who had managed to capture it, the Doctor managed to get in touch with Starfleet Command. In short order, Project Pathfinder was formed, with the objective of communicating with Voyager and finding a way to bring the vessel home.
The return of Voyager
In the year 2378, Starfleet was alarmed when a transwarp conduit appeared less than a lightyear from Earth. Scrambling to respond, a fleet of starships attempted to engage the Borg vessel, only for it to explode from the inside out. To the shock of the entire Federation, Voyager then emerged from within the sphere as it was destroyed. After seven years, the crew had returned home.
Origins of the Pathfinder
After Voyager returned, engineers went over the much changed starship from stem to stern, learning about the new technology that had been integrated into its systems with the help of the ship's crew. Starfleet rushed to incorporate technology from Voyager into as many of its ships as possible, but the resources needed to do so were somewhat scarce. From the outset, the Starfleet core of engineers wanted to develop an improved starship based on the data they had retrieved from Voyager's logs. Thus the concept of the Pathfinder class was born. Over the course of three years, Starfleet used the Intrepid class as a template and developed a modified vessel based on that design, naming it after the Earth project which made contact with Voyager in the first place. Then, in December of 2380, the Pathfinder prototype Was officially completed.

The Pathfinder rested in its berth at Utopia Planicia, its external hull darkened save for the occasional light spilling through one of the ship's viewports. Aboard her, personnel slowly gathered and began to learn their surroundings like employees settling into a brand new office building. Deep in the bowels of the ship, Natira Dareese crouched in a Jefferies tube. She had her eyes on one of the new MKIII bio-neural gel packs and was carefully examining it, considering the connections that interfaced it with the ship's systems. She was off in her own world, mapping all the variables and considering…

Owen sat down at his desk; perhaps he should’ve asked Lieutenant Thul about having a larger chair brought in. He’d have to put in a request at some point soon. The man had been chasing down engineering gremlins; he’d at least be able to point Owen in the right direction. Pulling up the scans he’d taken on one display and Thul’s medical file on the other, he sat back to compare the two.
The lung damage would take time, but he was fairly certain they could begin with regenerative pulmonary therapy and see a vast improvement. He took notes as…

Mission: Episode 1: Maiden Voyage

Jarec exited the turbolift and made his way down the corridor. As he walked he checked the PADD in his hand. They were having problems with the replicators on deck 12 and he was checking on the status of the diagnostics that were being run. So far most of the quarters affected were unoccupied, but the random production of food items was causing issues for the crew assigned to check and clean them. They couldn’t turn them off, or else they wouldn’t know if they were fixed.
Unhappy with the lack of results for far, Jarec shook his head as…

The corridors of the Pathfinder were extremely quiet. A brand new prototype, the ship rested in a construction yard at Utopia Planicia. Connected to external power, there wasn't even the hum of a functioning warp core for background noise traveling through the corridors.
In transporter room 2, a column of light began to form in the middle of the transporter pad. The quiet, familiar descending resonance of a transporter beam filled the space. A second later, a green-skinned woman of middle age, wearing a command red Starfleet uniform with captain's pips was deposited onto the platform. For a long moment,…

Captain's log, inaugural entry. Earth date, December 15, 2380. It has been five days since I boarded the Pathfinder independently, to settle in and start building a rapport with her. Since then, I just haven't bothered to leave. Assignments continue to trickle down from Command, and the ship is slowly filling up with junior officers. Meanwhile, when I am not tinkering or verifying system diagnostics, I have been picking out my preferred candidates for senior officer positions while I await word on what our first mission may be. I suspect my tunings have already been noticed by the shipyard engineers,…
